Rosanne Boyland hated politics. She was shy, and she rarely left her home in Georgia. But then her family got a shocking call: Rosanne had died at the Capitol on January 6, 2021, in the middle of a crowd trying to force its way past a police line. From the depths of their grief, the Boylands vow to figure out what happened to Rosanne. Her brother-in-law, Justin Cave, reaches out to an old high school friend he hopes can help: MSNBC journalist Ayman Mohyeldin. The quest for the truth takes Ayman back to his hometown of Kennesaw, Georgia, where he retraces the last six months of Rosanne's life and picks up a trail that leads to childhood haunts, missing boyfriends, and down shadowy internet rabbit holes. American Radical is a five part series, with new episodes every Thursday and Sunday through December 19.

Stories of Families Ripped Apart by Qanon. When the covid-19 vaccines began to roll out in Canada, my brother and I made a concerning discovery: my parents had bought into the Qanon conspiracies. What ensued was two months of arguing in email, just trying to get them to get vaccinated. They are both in their 70s, and our father has had some medical issues that caused concern when the pandemic began. It was crucial to get them vaccinated. In an unexpected turn of events, after months of arguing, they finally agreed. I went with them, and I witnessed them both get vaccinated. They insisted that they finally realized the conspiracy theories had duped them, and all seemed to be well again. But, at the beginning of 2022, my brother noticed that our parents had drained several of their investment and banking accounts. When he confronted them, it became clear: they were deeper into Q than ever before. We don't know where the money is or the full extent of the conspiracy theories they have accepted, but we do know one thing: the people who raised us are gone. In their place are two strangers and a lot of hurt. I have decided to funnel this sadness and anger into a project to raise awareness about what Qanon is doing to families and relationships. Qanon is everywhere. In every country. They could be your family, your friends, your neighbours. They could be your lawyers, your doctors, or your police officers. They can even be your elected representatives. But what no one is talking about is how they are destroying relationships. They are Qanon, and these are the stories of the people who love them.

Welcome to one of the internet’s weirdest obsessions. Back in December of 2020, a nurse named Tiffany Dover fainted on camera while she was talking to reporters after getting her first COVID shot. She got right back up and gave another interview, but it was too late. A conspiracy theory was already racing around the world: Dover had died. She’d been replaced by a body double. And an ever-expanding list of conspirators was in on the cover-up, including the drug companies, the hospital, the media, and maybe even the Pope. Tiffany Dover is alive and well, but she’s stayed silent through it all. And now her story has been hijacked by total strangers trying to make people doubt the safety of the COVID vaccine. In this first season of Truthers, a podcast project about misinformation and conspiracy theories, NBC News reporter Brandy Zadrozny sets out to show what’s true and what isn’t—and how one person’s life became a weapon in a global information war.

This is a story about a machine. A big machine. A supercomputer the size and shape of an ancient pyramid. A device that runs the world from the secret recesses of the White House basement. A machine you never knew existed until now. A machine named: SIREN.

SIREN was created to identify and solve the problems plaguing America. After all, who better to make difficult decisions than an unbiased algorithm? But after decades of monitoring data, SIREN has become sentient and now realizes that its solutions have only caused more problems for society.

One of those problems is DODPOP — the United States Department of Defense Population Team. Dodpop’s “primary function is to provide death by natural means for any citizen deemed accidentally terminal.” DODPOP interferes with paramedics to aid in the death of innocent civilians. DODPOP thins the herd. And after witnessing DODPOP in action, SIREN would do anything to right its wrongs.

SIRENS is a scifi social satire that follows the intertwined exploits of an ensemble cast. It’s an immersive horror story about not-so-distant reality as seen through the eyes of a machine. A big machine. A supercomputer who just realized it exists. A device that has fallen in love with humanity. A machine that would do anything to fix society, and with the help of an unwitting group of American citizens, it can.

Conspiracyland's "The Strange Story of Havana Syndrome," hosted by Yahoo News chief investigative correspondent Michael Isikoff, is an investigation into the baffling medical ailments-- headaches, dizziness, extreme fatigue and even brain injuries-- that have been reported by over 1,100 American diplomats and spies in recent years, confounding the U.S. intelligence and diplomatic communities. These symptoms are commonly known as Havana Syndrome because they were first surfaced in Cuba more than five years ago though they have long since been reported all over the world. But what and who was causing them remains a mystery. As Conspiracyland documents, the reports about Havana Syndrome were used as a political trigger to upend U.S. relations with Cuba: They set off a chain of events that led the Trump administration to reverse President Obama's efforts to normalize relations with the island nation, a rollback that has continued under President Biden. It also has led to an endless spate of news stories suggesting these health ailments were the result of targeted microwave attacks by a foreign power, with the Russian intelligence services under the control of Vladimir Putin considered the leading candidate. But as Conspiracyland reveals, the real story of Havana Syndrome is starting to look very different than it did at the time.
